Brazilian Artist João Fênix

Rio de Janeiro-based singer-songwriter João Fênix was born in the northern state of Pernambuco. A daring performer, João Fênix sings in a unique register with overflowing passion.

In July 2021, he released his seventh album, Gotas de sangue, (Drops of Blood): an intimate and delicate collection of Brazilian popular music gems featuring Luiz Otavio, a blind and talented Carioca pianist. The repertoire features works of such giants as Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, Baden Powell, Roberto Carlos, and Dolores Duran, among others.
