Mojùgbá: Four Years of Giving Homage to the Ancestral Spirits of Music + Dance
Venue:Mojùgbá: Four Years of Giving Homage to the Ancestral Spirits of Music + Dance
Four years ago, at a small vegan bar and grill in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, something special came into being: Mojùgbá. The term means a Yoruba prayer recited to give homage to Egùn (Ancestor) or an Òrísá (deity of nature).
Every month, artistic, bohemian, gypsy, holistic, eclectic, soulful, creative beings of high vibrations came together giving homage through food, art, music, and dance on the foundation of ancestral spirituality – and today this tradition continues at Bossa!
Mojùgbá is not an event, it is a gathering! There is a deep level of community and intimacy in which guests are friends, family even. Come join in!
