Tumbao y Raul Morel

Venue:Tumbao y Raul Morel

The best Latin night in DC takes place right here at Bossa every Saturday night with Tumbao y Raul Morel!

Starring a pan-American assortment of fiery and consummate musicians, Tumbao – headed by the incomparable Jorge Martinez (Cuba) on keyboard; and featuring Manuel Hernandez (El Salvador) on bass, Adam Tafur (Peru) on congas, and Ralph Esquenazy (U.S.) on timbales – is the epitome of the quintessential Latin band. Armed with the area’s best of the best in the biz, Tumbao gets the joint jumping weekly with hot rhythms from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, and more (sometimes they even throw in a Brazilian song in homage to the house!).

Raul Morel (aka Raul Raul) is a Dominican-born singer-songwriter renowned for his sensual and sturdy vocals. A salsero through and through, Raul is a star in the DMV Latin music circuit and an even bigger sensation back home where news of his upcoming singles hit airwaves and billboards across the country. He is a powerhouse interpreter of classic ballads, boleros, salsas, merengues, and bachatas, but it’s Raul’s original compositions – like the hit “Mala y traicionera” – that really reveal his range as both composer and vocalist.
