Bossa is pleased to welcome GranMah to our main stage. Not your average Mozambican garage band, these six artists – Luis Silva (guitar), Leo Fernandes (bass), Migz Wilson (drums), Regina dos Santos (vox), Miguel Marques (keys), and Ricardo Conceição (sax) – literally got their start in a garage, but their reach has spread beyond East Africa and around the world.
A self-proclaimed dub/reggae fusion band, GranMah are kind of a big deal in Mozambique, and they have been keeping themselves pretty busy these last several years. Recipients of awards and contests galore on home soil, the group has also performed in international festivals, spreading their good vibes in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Ever busy in the studio with various projects, collaborations, and marketing campaigns, they also dropped their first album, a self-titled record, in December 2015 (sample it here).
GranMah is touring Portugal, the U.S., and Canada this summer, and we’re lucky enough to be one of only three prized slots on the American leg of that journey. You won’t want to miss this celebrated, feel-good act from Lusophone Africa!
GranMah performs live at Bossa on Wednesday, July 18, at 7 pm, and on Friday, July 20, at 8:30 pm!
