American Nomad is an original soul-Americana band from the DC area band that grooves. The band’s sharp songwriting, skilled musicianship, tight horn section, and “foot-stomping” live show have been known for getting people on the dance floor and captivating diverse music audiences. Their sound is a blend of, soul, purpose, and passion that keeps growing.
Fronted by Hassan El-Tayyab, an award-winning singer-songwriter, author, and peace activist, American Nomad’s music is about honesty, vulnerability, and storytelling for a purpose. Hassan’s original works have gained national recognition, earning him accolades at the Telluride Troubadour and Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Competitions.
Based out of Mt. Pleasant, DC, and playing throughout the DMV, Two Dollar Bill tells lyrically-driven stories of heartbreak, loss, and self-reflection through sweet harmonies and set-stealing lead guitar.
